Today you are a whole Year old. Although I have a hard time remembering what life was like before you came into it, I can't figure out how your first 365 days flew by so fast!
Did I really look like this only a few months ago? Crazy. I love how we share birthdays that are only a few days apart. You are the best birthday gift I have ever been given!
I love your smile. You have the best cheeks and toothless grin, and I love how you scrunch your little nose when you get really excited. I love listening to you learn how to talk! You can already say Dada, Mama, Thatha, Hi, Bye and Belly. So smart.
Discovering warm outside days has been so much fun. You were so confused the first time I took you out without socks, hat and jacket. You still are not quite sure how you feel about grass, you somehow manage to crawl with your toes in the air, trying to keep as much of you off of it as possible.

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be."

You are an amazing little girl, Leilani. Watching you grow has been absolutely thrilling. From watching you learn how to track things with your eyes, to watching you crawl for the first time, the excitement never stops!

You are gaining confidence in your balance every day! You stand a little longer each time, and frequently forget that you still need to hold on. Walking (may) be just around the corner!
Some of my favorite moments are laughing and cuddling with you in bed when you wake up in the morning. Your scruffy hair and sleepy smiles are the sweetest things.
You are so loved, little girl. You make every one smile, and bless people just by being around!
You have taught me more about love than I ever knew before. I love you with an intensity that will most likely annoy you to no end as soon as you hit school age. I completely adore you. You will always be my baby girl!
I can not wait to watch you grow and learn. I am so blessed to be your mom. I love you and am so proud of you Leilani!
Happy, Happy Birthday Little Lady.
This is so sweet Ruth. She's so fortunate to have a loving, caring, adoring mother like you. She's precious. Congratulations on making it through your first year of parenthood too! I'm sure it only gets better from here on out. =) God Bless!

Hope she had a wonderful party!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow Ruth! This is an awesome tribute to your most precious treasure, a gift from God in the form of a human baby bundle called Leilani! I think the picture of her crawling away with her toes in the air is just priceless!! She's a very blessed baby girl and I wish her a very happy b-day and spring!! Steph G.
