B-Movie Night

For the past twoish years, a good friend of ours has headed over to our place once a month to observe what we call B-Movie Night. Thanks to facebook, I got back in touch (Back in touch? Were we in touch pre facebook?) with an old highschool acquaintance of mine sometime in December of 2009. We hit it off right away, and decided to make our friendship "for reals" and meet in real life. A bond over smoothies soon became an invitation to dinner after Leilani arrived, during which, we discovered our mutual love of low-budget films of epic proportions. Thus began a friendship forged by the fiery heat of dragon's breath, volcanic eruptions and machine gun fire.

We began our monthly meetings with a pizza and The Polar Bear King. I believe we also broke out the ice cream maker to make a strawberry slushy like concoction. We laughed, we cried, we were moved. Please enjoy this slice of the awesome:



Since that evening, we have basked in the glory of many cinematic wonders and many fancy dinners. It was a sad day when our friend had to head West to get herself an education. Thanks to winter break, however, we were able to reunite last week and this, to savor the good ole days. Last night, we watched possibly the best movie to date.
